A day after her sister Shaimaa Salim leveled shocking allegations against bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala and Saifee Hospital in a video uploaded online that has gone viral, now her mother, Thanaa Ahmed, too, released a scathing footage on Eman's health.

In the 2 minutes 48 seconds video, Thanaa claimed that Dr Lakdawala and Saifee Hospital, where Eman is being treated, got her daughter to Mumbai on false promises and took advantage of her condition to gain publicity, as per the report on mid-day.

It all started after the Saifee hospital has said that Eman's condition has improved and has asked her to be discharged in the next two weeks.

Refuting Shaimaa's claim that Eman's health was deteriorating, doctors on Tuesday said that the 36-year-old Egyptian woman is hale and hearty, adding that she has lost weight dramatically, faster than expected.

“Unfortunately Eman's case is an example of the worst kind of assault that a patient's family can do to a doctor,” Dr Aparna Govil Bhasker, section chief in the hospital, who quit from the team treating Eman, wrote in a Facebook post.

“What her sister has done is worse than physically assaulting a doctor. She has broken the bond of trust between doctors and patients. I am appalled at the irony that today when Eman’s health is the best that it has ever been in last 25 years, her sister chooses to go down this path,” Dr Aparna added.

Eman, who underwent a bariatric surgery on March 7, also had a successful CT scan on Tuesday.

“Our CT scan machine can’t take weight over 204kg. The fact that she underwent a successful scan today is proof that she has lost weight,” the Saifee Hospital COO Huzaifa Sehabi was quoted as saying.

Eman, who weighed over 500kg and was known as the world's heaviest woman, was airlifted to Mumbai in a special cargo plane from Alexandria in Egypt on February 11 this year.
