New Delhi: It seems like the struggle to lose weight for the world's heaviest woman Eman Ahmed has streched as doctors at Abu Dhabi hospital have said that the 36-year-old Eman will have to undergo heart valve replacement as part of her weight loss program.

The Egyptian national weighed over 500 kilos when she was brought to Mumbai from her hometown in Cairo.


The doctors at Saifee hospital managed to cut down her weight by more than 300 kilos till controversies erupted which pushed her to Abu Dhabi from Mumbai.


Burjeel hospital said that they started her health assessment as soon as she was on board the Egypt Air cargo flight.


“There’s significant improvement due to the rehabilitation programme. Now she is able to raise her right arm against gravity for the first time since she had her first stroke,” said the hospital in an official release on Saturday.


Strict diet and possible surgical intervention is part of her long-term rehabilitation plan. Samples have also been sent to Germany to detect any possible genetic disorder.
