New Delhi: Ovarian cyst is a solid or fluid-filled sac or pocket (cyst) within or on the surface of an ovary. It has become very common, even with woman who still get their period.

It is said that most ovarian cysts are small and and do not cause any symptoms. However, symptoms can appear as the cyst grows. The pain may be sharp or dull, and can come and go.


Here are some early symptoms of ovarian cyst which every women should be aware of:


  • abdominal bloating or swelling.
  • painful bowel movements.
  • pelvic pain before or during the menstrual cycle.
  • painful intercourse.
  • pain in the lower back or thighs.
  • breast tenderness.
  • nausea and vomiting.

  • severe or sharp pelvic pain
  • fever
