New Delhi: Diarrhoea occurs when the digestive system is not functioning properly, resulting in frequent watery stools, three or more times a day. It is often accompanied by vomiting, acute stomach pain, fever, nausea, thirst, loss of appetite and dehydration.


And the best way to keep diarrhoea  at bay is to eat healthy.


Here are some home remedies to get rid of diarrhoea:


Coconut Water


One should drink coconut water as it contains rich amount of minerals or electrolytes that replenish the body fluids. It also boosts the blood circulation and helps to recuperate from diarrhea quickly.


Yogurt


Yogurt is often considered as one of the best food for digestion because it contains rich amount of ‘good’ bacteria (lactobacilli) that plays a key role in the digestion process and also reduces many stomach problems like indigestion, diarrhea, and constipation.


Bananas


Bananas are rich in pectin that helps in absorbing the liquid in the intestines which makes your stools less watery. The fruit is also rich in potassium.


Pumpkin


One should eat pumpkin when he/she is suffering from diarrhea as it contains the soluble fibers that helps to harden the stool.


Chamomile tea


Drinking chamomile tea provides relief from abdominal pains accompanying stomach disorders including diarrhea as it has antispasmodic properties.


Ginger


One should consume ginger as it boosts the digestive system and wards off infections.
