#WorldBloodDonorDay: What can you do? Give blood. Give now. Give often.
This year, the World Health organisation (WHO) is emphasising on blood donation in emergencies. Becuase no-one knows when disaster will strike. But every disaster has victims, and many victims need blood.
New Delhi: Today, the 14th of June, is celebrated as World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) around the world each year. The event, established in 2004, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
This year, the campaign focuses on blood donation in crisis and emergencies. Because no one knows when disaster will strike. But every disaster has victims, and many victims need blood.
Therefore, the slogan for the 2017 WBDD is: What can you do? With the secondary message: Give blood. Give now. Give often.
So what can you do? Don’t wait until disaster strikes. Give blood. Give now. Give often.
