SHIMLA: Just days to go for Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, independent candidate Vinod Kumar died on Monday due to sudden cardiac arrest.
Kumar was a candidate from Barsar in Himachal's Hamirpur district.
The Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will be held on November 9. The counting of votes will take place on December 18.
The term of the 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly will come to an end on January 7, 2018.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a list of 68 candidates for the Himachal elections, while Congress released a list of 40-star campaigners.
BJP announced the name of veteran leader Prem Kumar Dhumal as the chief ministerial candidate for the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held addressed two election rallies in the poll-bound state.
