Earthquake In Delhi-NCR UPDATES: Delhi has once again recorded a mild-intensity earthquake, less than 24 hours after strong tremors jolted parts of northern India. The earthquake intensity was recorded at magnitude 2.7 at Richter Scale this time.

    Delhi has once again recorded a mild-intensity earthquake, less than 24 hours after strong tremors jolted parts of northern India. On Tuesday night, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region, sending tremors in many parts of Central Asia.

    An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 hit Afghanistan on Tuesday with its epicentre in the Hindukush region. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the epicentre of the earthquake was located at 36.09 degrees north on the latitude and 71.35 degrees east on the longitude with a focal depth of 156 km. If the earthquake originated in Afghanistan, why were tremors felt all the way to North India? A senior seismologist told PTI, the reason why people in India felt the tremors for a relatively longer time is that the "depth of the fault was more than 150 km". People in northern India first felt the primary waves and then were impacted by the secondary waves, the seismologist added.

  • Earthquake in Pakistan: Death toll rises to 9

    While earlier it was reported that 2 people had lost their lives in the earthquake. The death toll of the 6.8 magnitude earthquake has risen to 9 in Pakistan and over 160 people have been reportedly injured. Around 150 people were injured in Swat, where hospitals had declared a state of emergency, as per a report by The Express Tribune newspaper.

    According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, a strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan on Tuesday (March 21) and tremors were felt in several cities such as Islamabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority stated that 2 people died and 6 were injured due to roof and wall collapses. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, homes were also reportedly damaged.
