In 2017, Congress' CJ Chavda won the Gandhinagar North assembly seat by defeating BJP's Ashokkumar Ranchhodbhai Patel by a margin of just 5,736 votes.
The Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Chunav Results 2022 were declared December 8, 2022 where the Bhartiya Janata Party claimed a landslide victory winning 156 seats out of 182. Congress won 17 seats while AAP won 5 seats in its debut election in Gujarat.
