Current PAN cardholders will be automatically upgraded without needing to reapply, and the new cards will feature QR codes for enhanced security. New applicants must provide valid documents and meet standard criteria.

PAN 2.0 also aims to transform taxpayer registration services by leveraging technology to improve accessibility and efficiency. Available through the NSDL or UTIITSL portals, the updated system streamlines processes, enhances grievance resolution, and ensures faster, paperless services.

All current PAN cardholders are automatically eligible for the PAN 2.0 upgrade. If you already possess a PAN, reapplication is unnecessary; simply request the new QR-enabled version. New applicants must fulfill standard eligibility requirements by providing valid identity and address proofs. PAN 2.0 will be issued to all taxpayers free of charge.

Aspirants must provide valid Proof of Identity, such as an Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License, along with Proof of Address like utility bills, bank statements, or rent agreements. For Proof of Date of Birth, a birth certificate, school leaving certificate, or passport is required. Notably, Applicants must ensure that all documents are accurate and current to avoid delays in the process.

Before applying to get the PAN on your email, a taxpayer must check whether their PAN is issued by NSDL or UTI Infrastructure and Technology and Services Ltd. (UTIITSL). Once the process is done, it can take up to 30 minutes to receive the PAN on your registered email ID.  

How To Get PAN 2.0 Card Online From NSDL Website?

Step 1: Go to the NSDL website and provide your PAN, Aadhaar (for individuals), and date of birth.

Step 2: Tick the applicable checkboxes, submit the details, and verify the information displayed by the Income Tax Department.

Step 3: Choose your preferred OTP delivery method, enter the OTP (valid for 10 minutes), and validate your details.

Step 4: Agree to the terms and conditions, select the payment mode, and confirm the payment amount.

Step 5: After successful payment, your PAN will be delivered to the registered email ID.

Step 1: Visit the UTIITSL website at https://www.utiitsl.com.

Step 2: Enter your PAN, date of birth, and the captcha code to proceed.

Step 3: If your email is not registered, update it under PAN 2.0 once the project officially begins.

Step 4: e-PANs issued within the last 30 days are free; older requests will incur a fee of Rs. 8.26.

Step 5: Your e-PAN will be delivered to your registered email ID in PDF format.
