Coronavirus COVID-19: Maharashtra total positive cases reach 3202, 286 cases in 24 hours

  • Total coronavirus COVID-19 positive cases increases to 3,202 in Maharashtra. There have been 286 new cases in Maharashtra, incluing 177 new cases in Mumbai, during the last 24 hours. There have been 7 deaths in Maharashtra during the last 24 hours. The death toll now stands at 194. In Maharashtra today, 5 patients were discharged after recovering. So far, 300 patients have been cured and discharged in Maharashtra.

  • With six more COVID-19 positive cases in Bihar on Thursday, the total cases reached 80. 

  • Government gives relief to small IT units operating out of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has decided to provide a rental waiver to these units housed in STPI premises in the country from March 1 till June 30 i.e. for 4 months period as of now. The total cost of the rental waiver provided is estimated to be around Rs 5 Crore. This will benefit nearly 200 IT/ ITeS MSMEs, operating from these 60 STPI centres.

The curfew will remain in force till April 22, and a three-hour relaxation will be given from 1 PM to 4 pm on these days, the order said.

  • India reports 12,380 total cases, which includes 10,477 active cases, 1,488 Cured / Discharged and 414 deaths till Thursday morning.
     

  • Nearly 70 people in South Delhi put under quarantine after a pizza delivery boy was found to be coronavirus positive. The people of Hauz Khas and Malviya Nagar areas of South Delhi have been quarantined. He had delivered pizza in these places. Currently they are under home quarantine, will be tested if they start showing symptoms.

  • Two constables of the Delhi Police at Chandni Mahal police station test positive for coronavirus. They were on picket duty there, now both are being sent to the hospital. A list of police staff they meet is also being prepared. As many as 52 people at Chandni Mahal area have tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus positive cases in India jumps to 12,380 cases of infections with the death toll touching 414, according to the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (April 16). The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has declared 170 districts as coronavirus COVID-19 hotspots and 207 districts as non-hotspots.
