India on Sunday recorded the highest single-day spike in number of coronavirus cases with over 19,000 new cases. As per the Ministry of Health data total confirmed cases in India stands at 5,28,859 including 2,03,051 active cases, 3,09,713 cured/discharged/migrated and 16,095 deaths.

  • Maharashtra: Total number rises to 1,64,626 after 5,493 new cases were reported today. Death count at 7,424.

  • Karnataka: New Cases Reported - 1,267. Total Positive Cases - 13,190. Total Active Cases - 5,472. Total COVID Deaths - 207.

     

  • West Bengal: State reports the highest single-day spike with 572 cases in the last 24 hrs. Total active cases: 5,451. Total cases: 16,711. Total deaths: 639
     

  • Gujarat: Total cases - 31,397, active cases - 6,780. Death count at 1,809.
     

  • Delhi: 2,889 new cases and 65 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the national capital surged to 83,077, out of which 27,847 are still active. Death count at 2,623.

     

  • Kerala: 118 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 and 42 persons have recovered today. There are 124 COVID-19 hotspots in the state.
     

  • Rajasthan: 175 fresh COVID-19 cases, along with five new deaths were reported in the state.
     

  • Maharashtra: 50 prisoners in Akola jail test COVID-19 positive. (PTI input)

  • Uttar Pradesh: 606 new confirmed infections have been reported in the state in the past 24 hours. There are now 6,679 active cases while 660 people have succumbed to the virus.

410 deaths and 19,906 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in India in the last 24 hours. The country saw a surge of 3,38,324 infections from June 1 till date.


Meanwhile, Delhi on Saturday got the world's largest COVID care centre with 10000-bed facility named as Sardar Patel COVID care centre. 


The recovery rate in India stands at  58.56 percent. As per ICMR data, 82,27,802 samples have been tested up to June 27 and 2,31,095 samples have been tested on Saturday.


India continued to be the fourth worst-hit among 213 countries and it is now less than 2 lakh cases away from Russia, which is in the third spot behind the US and Brazil, respectively.
