The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance and the Naga People`s Front (NPF) are in a neck and neck fight in the 60-member Assembly in Nagaland.

  • Janata Dal (United) Nagaland has decided to support the BJP in the formation of a stable govt in Nagaland.

    This decision is taken after a serious consideration of the current verdict of the just-declared results of the conducted general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and also to safeguard the interest of the National Democratic Alliance in Delhi, says JD(U) Nagaland.

  • The NDPP-BJP alliance is leading in 28 constituencies while the NPF is close behind leading in 26 seats. The others are leading in six seats.

  • Kiren Rijiju: I am hopeful that the BJP alliance will be successful in making its government in all the three states - Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura. The trends in all three states point to a new political direction, it will have an effect on national politics as well.

  • The Congress and others both are leading in two seats each

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance and the Naga People's Front (NPF) are in a neck and neck fight in the 60-member Assembly in Nagaland. The BJP is contesting in alliance with the newly-floated Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in the state. The two parties are fighting on 20 and 40 seats respectively. The voting in the state was held in 59 of the total 60 constituencies as three-time Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDDP) was declared elected unopposed from Northern Angami-II constituency.
