Bhopal: Amid the ongoing political upheaval in Madhya Pradesh, the efforts of both Congress and BJP to save their MLAs have intensified. Where on one side the Congress will take its MLAs to Jaipur on Wednesday (March 10, 2020), BJP MLAs have already left for Delhi from Bhopal.

Kamal Nath on Tuesday exuded confidence that his government will complete its term and said "There is nothing to worry about. We will prove our majority. Our government will complete its term."


After the Congress Legislature Party meeting ended in Bhopal, the Kamal Nath government decided to out of Madhya Pradesh to show unity among the remaining members. The Madhya Pradesh Congress party believes their other MLAs may join the party seeing their unity.


Congress party on Tuesday also passed a resolution condemning BJP for conspiring to topple its government in Madhya Pradesh. The resolution read, ''Congress legislative party condemns the unfortunate manner in which attempt has been made to insult the people's mandate by satisfying the personal ambitions of  Jyotiraditya Scindia.''


Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sajjan Singh Verma is likely to leave for Bengaluru to persuade some of the MLAs camped there to return to the party. 


On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party has also made preparations to send all the MLAs to Delhi. As per sources, the MLAs will be first taken to Delhi after which they may be shifted to Haryana.  BJP leader Gopal Bhargava left for Delhi from Bhopal with BJP MLAs on Tuesday night. 


Earlier on Tuesday, 22 MLAs including six ministers close to Scindia submitted their resignation to Governor Lalji Tandon via email.  The MLAs who are presently staying at a Bengaluru resort.  The number of the resignation of Congress MLAs may go up to 28 claimed sources. 


The names of the MLAs include- Imarati Devi, Tulsi Silawat, Govind Singh Rajput, Mahendra Singh Sisodiya, Pradyumn Singh Tomar and Prabhuram Chaudhari, Hardeep Singh Dang, Rajyavardhan Singh, Brajendra Singh Yadav, Jaspal Jajji, Suresh Dhakad, Jaswant Jatav, Raksha Santram Sironia, Munnalal Goyal, Ranveer Singh Jatav, OPS Bhadoria, Kamlesh Jatav, Giriraj Dandotiya, Raghuraj Kansana, Aidalsingh Kansana, Biasahulal Singh and Manoj Choudhary.


Congress is trying hard of luring back some of the rebel MLAs before Jyotiraditya Scindia joins BJP. As per sources, Jyotiraditya Scindia will join BJP on March 12 in Bhopal and after that  he will file nominations for the Rajya Sabha polls the next day.


In the 230 member Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the Congress has 114 MLAs and the support of four Independents, three Samajwadi Party MLAs and two Bahujan Samaj Party MLAs. The BJP has 109 MLAs. Two seats are currently vacant.
