New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (June 3, 2022) attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the third Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were also present at the event. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of 1,406 projects worth over Rs 8,000 crore. The projects were in diverse fields, including agriculture, IT and Electronics, MSME, manufacturing, renewable energy, pharma, tourism, defence and aerospace, handloom and textile.

“Today the world is seeing India's potential and appreciating India's performance. We are growing the fastest among the G20 economies. India is at number two in the Global Retail Index,” the Prime Minister said at the event.


While speaking at the Ground Breaking Ceremony, PM Modi shared the Centre’s mantra of governance - reform, perform, transform. “We recently completed 8 years of central governance. In these years, we progressed on the mantra of reform, perform, transform; focussed on policy stability, coordination and ease of doing business,” said PM Narendra Modi at the Ground Breaking Ceremony. 



“Today agreements of investment of more than Rs 80,000 Cr have been done here. This record investment will create thousands of employment opportunities. I congratulate the youth of UP for it as they will be most benefitted from it,” PM Modi added. 



PM Modi also took the opportunity to highlight Uttar Pradesh’s contribution to India's growth story and said, “I believe that it is Uttar Pradesh that will give momentum to India's growth story in the 21st century. In the next 10 years, Uttar Pradesh will be a big driving force for India…”


“We have worked to strengthen India as a nation with our reforms. One Nation-One Tax GST, One Nation-One Grid, One Nation-One Mobility Card, One Nation-One Ration Card. All these efforts are a reflection of our solid and clear policies,” PM Modi added. 


The UP Investors Summit 2018 was held on February 21st -22nd, 2018, with the first Ground Breaking Ceremony being held on July 29, 2018 and second Ground Breaking Ceremony on July 28, 2019.


At the event, UP CM Adityanath hailed the Centre's schemes like 'One District One Product' and said, "UP increased its traditional enterprise export from Rs 88,000cr to Rs 1.56 lakh crores with effective action in schemes like 'One District One Product'."


"The unemployment rate in Uttar Pradesh has decreased from 18% to 2.9%...," CM Yogi Adityanath added. 



The Ground Breaking Ceremony was also attended by top industry leaders of the country. Leading industrialists, including Gautam Adani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, and Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, are likely to attend the event, officials from the UP government said.
