"Bosch will deploy its own cloud for IoT within weeks. This will be yet another revenue stream for the company," Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Private Limited's Vice President and Business Unit Head Dattatreya Gaur told PTI here.

The Bosch IoT Cloud comprises technical infrastructure as well as platform and software offerings, Gaur said.

To begin with, the supplier of technology and services will use it for in-house solutions. From next year, it would also be made available as a service to other companies, Gaur added.

The Bosch IoT Cloud is the answer to security concerns of many companies and consumers, which keeps them from using cloud technologies and connectivity solutions, he said.

"Many companies and consumers state that security concerns keep them from using cloud technologies and connectivity solutions. The Bosch IoT Cloud is the answer to those concerns," he said.

Gaur also said that Bosch operates its IoT cloud in its own computing centre near Stuttgart, Germany.

"Consumers want to know whether their data are protected and secure. For this reason, the security we offer our customers is always state-of-the-art," he said.

The fundamental legal framework for this is German and European data-security regulations, Gaur said.

"The fact that the Bosch IoT Cloud is located in Germany gives it a competitive edge. Our cloud is a competitive advantage for Germany?s status as a seat of innovation," he added.

Talking about acquisitions, Gaur said mergers and integrations were the integral part of the company's strategies and it will continue working on it.

"I will not say India excluded, it is worldwide... Yes mergers and integrations are the integral part of our strategies. We will continue working on it, and we have been successful in M&A activities in the past," he said.

Gaur said the company had bought Innovations Software Technology and it was a full-grown global company with a long history of developing embedded applications. Their software runs in trains, the German mail sorting machines and cell phones.

He also said that apart from having Merger and Acquisitions, it was very important to have partners in IoT space."Partnership is even bigger and an important element of strategy in the area of IoT and services," he added.
