Kochi: An Air India express flight, with 102 passengers and and six crew members on-board, veered-off from the taxiway at Kochi airport on Monday moring. The incident happened as the plane was approaching the parking bay.

"All passengers were evacuated through ladder. All safe. No casualties," a Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) spokesman told PTI.


The nose-wheel of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft collapsed due to the incident.


"Abu Dhabi-Kochi Air India express with 102 passengers veered off from taxiway at 2.39 am today at Kochi airport. All safe," said ANI news agency in a tweet.


The aircraft has been grounded after the incident, the source said, adding an internal inquiry as well as a probe by the aviation regulator DGCA has been initiated.


Air India Express spokesperson was not available for comments.
