Kozhikide: In yet another shocking incident of political faceoff in Kerala, three Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) workers and one Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker were allegedly brutally attacked by a group of CPI(M) workers in Kozhikode district.

According to reports, the incident took place at a village near Koyilandy in the Kozhikode. The police have arrested one CPI(M) activists and have identified nine others involved in the attack.


Local police told that all the victims were in their 20s and suffered multiple injuries in head, hand and legs in the ambush by more than 10 CPI(M) workers over a political rivalry. As per the report, the RSS workers were attacked with swords and sharp-edged weapons.


The attack took place on late Saturday night and all the three men have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital.


The incident comes in the wake of the ongoing tussle between the RSS and the CPI(M) in Kerala, as last Thursday, an RSS office was attacked in the state.Kerala, as last Thursday, an RSS office was attacked in the state.


These attacks have taken place after RSS leader Kundan Chandravat announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for anyone who brought the head of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.


Both parties have been at loggerheads over the steady cycle of violence which has claimed several lives on both sides. 


Police are currently investigating the matter and are trying to find out the people who were behind this act.
