The play has resumed after tea and India are four wickets away from winning this Test. Ishant Sharma starts off with the proceedings and there is a big appeal right in the beginning, but the ball hit Duminy's bat and then the pad. Duminy leaves the next three balls alone. The over ends with a maiden.

  • Over 72 | Score 135/6 (Duminy 0*)

Ishant bowls a maiden over as a watchful Faf du Plessis defends. Duminy gets of the mark next over before Faf plays an exquisite shot past cover for four. A ball keeps real low and Faf goes for a sweep only to miss the bounce and it hits the stumps. Mishra with two wickets here in quick succession.

Just as Amla and Faf were batting really well with the pitch slowing down, Mishra provides India the breakthgrough. Amla edges one to Kohli at gully after trying to reach out at a tossed up ball. Credit to the bowler here, India are ecstatic.

    HM Amla c Kohli b Mishra 39 (167b)

  • Over 64 | Score 126/4 (Amla 38*, Du Plessis 32*)

Amla and Faf have shown being patient on this wicket can be of great help. India have gone wicketless for an hour. Amla has settled down well and Kohli will hope his rotation of bowlers will be spot on from here on. Faf has played an effective support cast and has fended off everything that has been thrown at him. There have been a few close calls but nothing serious to tempt the umpire.

  • Over 61 | Score 122/4 (Amla 36*, Du Plessis 30*)

Amla is batting very patiently against the Indian spinners. The pitch looks like to have slowed down a bit. Ashwin has mixed it up well and not allowed the batsmen much room. It has been a fresher approach by South Africa and they are batting at ease at the moment.

  • Over 55 | Score 118/4 (Amla 32*, Du Plessis 23*)

Amla and Du Plessis continue to bat on for the visitors. Runs are coming in one and twos as Kohli is continuing with his best two options. The batsmen are defending at ease and it will take some clever bowling to get a wicket. The partnership has reached 60 runs between the two.

  • Over 47 | Score 109/4 (Amla 32*, Du Plessis 23*)

The game has resumed after lunch and Ashwin starts off with a maiden. There was a huge appeal against Faf du Plessis for a LBW, but with the ball spinning too much, the umpire had his doubts. Mishra then bowls a bad full toss and Amla caresses the ball past midwicket for a four.

  • Over 45 | Score 105/4 (Amla 28*, Du Plessis 23*)

The technique, and determination of both Amla and Faf has been wonderful to watch. They haven't allowed India to make further inroads. Ashwin has been amazing after accounting for both wickets today. The last two overs produce a run each as lunch is called.

  • Over 43 | Score 103/4 (Amla 28*, Du Plessis 21*)

South Africa have built on a partnership here as Amla and Du Plessis are stitching some valuable runs. Amla has looked good so far and needs to carry on to get something big. The Proteas have got past 100 runs and are looking content with the situation so far by blocking the spinners. Their approach has been better on the third day. India need to be patient and force the batsmen to do something awry.

  • Over 31 | Score 71/4 (Amla 15*, Du Plessis 5*)

Amla and Du Plessis will have to try it to battle against the Indian bowlers. Jadeja and Ashwin have bowled consistently and that have resulted in two wickets this session so far. Mishra meanwhile had a tough chance dropped by Saha in the 30th over. Drinks have been called. Kohli will be very happy with the way Ashwin has taken the onus of leading this bowling unit.

  • Over 25 | Score 60/4 (Amla 7*, Du Plessis 1*)

AB clears mid-off for a four against Jadeja. Nice start to the over. Amla then hits an excellent drive to pick a brace. Next over sees Ashwin appeal for a LBW , but AB survives. Three comes from the over. Amla then sees out Jadeja's over. Next over Ashwin gets AB de Villiers, the ball pitches on off, moves a hint away from the batsman who does not pick it and is struck right in front of middle and off. Faf du Plessis comes in and squeezes the first to third man for a couple. Jadeja then bowls a maiden with Amla being watchful again.

AB de Villiers lbw b Ashwin 9 (21b)

  • Over 20 | Score 43/3 (Amla 5*, De Villiers 1*)

After Ashwin's wicket, Virat Kohli is quick to introduce Jadeja. He starts off with a maiden. The pitch looks very lively as one delivery goes past Amla's outside edge and rips pretty easily. Ashwin continues and AB gets off the mark with a single in the fifth ball. Amla ends the over with a brace after an edge sees the ball go towards third man.

  • Over 18 | Score 40/3 (Amla 3*, De Villiers 0*)

Ishant Sharma starts off with the proceedings for India and it is a maiden over. Amla looks pretty wary and sees it out. Ashwin is introduced straight away and Elgar defends well. He gets a single and India start well on Day 3. Ishant then sees another tidy over go by. He bowls mainly in that off-side channel. Ashwin then is hit for a six by Elgar. It was slog sweep well over midwicket. Elgar then comes forward and the ball might have hits the inside edge onto the pad and Pujara claims the catch. Ashwin gets another wicket.
