Barpeta is one of 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the north-eastern state of Assam and cast its vote in the 2019 election on April 23. The result will be out on May 23.

Barpeta registered 86.60 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 27.12 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1676854 while the total voter turnout is 1452213. While in 2014, the constituency registered 59.48 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 2026911 while the total voter's turnout was 1205635.


Abdul Khaleque of Indian National Congress, Ashahak Ali Dewan of All India Trinamool Congress, Kumar Deepak Das of Asom Gana Parishad and Rafiqul Islam of All India United Democratic Front are some of the prominent names that will contest the Lok Sabha election 2019 from Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency in Assam. 



Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency covers 10 assembly segments - Bongaigaon, Abhayapuri North, Abhayapuri South, Patacharkuchi, Barpeta, Jania, Baghbar, Sarukhetri, Chenga and Dharampur.
