Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief electoral officer Saleena Singh on Sunday said there had been no incident of booth capturing in the state, adding that the situation had been in control.

"Shots were fired in air by the security forces to control situation in Sankri. Heavy security at the booths. There has been no incidents of booth capturing," Singh told ANI.


With assembly by-elections underway, incidents of violence were reported in Madhya Pradesh`s Bhind district.


The car of a Congress leader was vandalised in a brawl and two people were beaten up.Meanwhile, the Congress Party held the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters responsible for the ruckus.


According to reports, the riot control police has been brought in to control the situation. The paramilitary forces and the local police have been patrolling the area.
