New Delhi: After launching the Redmi 5A and the Redmi Note 5, Chinse handset maker Xiaomi may launch the Redmi 5 in India on Wednesday.

Though nothing has been confirmed by the company as yet, media is abuzz with speculations on the possible launch of the above mentioned phone.


From what appears from the company's social media teasers and tweets, the company could well be launching the Redmi 5 in India, media reports have said.

It is most widely speculated that the Redmi 5 will be placed somewhat between the Redmi 5A and Redmi Note 5 series. The Redmi 5 price India could range between Rs 8,000 and Rs 9,000 for its two variants – one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.


Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch HD display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, coupled with 2GB, 3GB and 4GB of RAM.


The phone houses a 12-megapixel rear camera  and a 5-megapixel front shooter.
