Mumbai: Weeks after the devastating Kamala mills fire tragedy, a massive fire broke out in the same locality on Friday.

The incident that took place at Navrang Studio in Mumbai’s Lower Parel.



As many as 12 fire brigade vehicles arrived at the spot and began operations to douse the flame.


The mishap left a fire officer injured. No casualties have been reported from the studio complex.


"This building has not been functional for nearly 20 years now. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building. Operations are still underway," Deputy Chief Fire Officer R Chaudhary told ANI.


While the cause of the fire remains unknown, it is said that the condition of the building is poor, and can collapse at any time.


On December 29, a massive fire had broken out at Kamla Mills Compound in the Lower Parel locality of Mumbai killing 14 people and injuring another 30.


Just a week after the Kamala mills mishap, another fire was reported from Cinevista studio in east central Mumbai's Kanjurmarg.


Eight fire tenders had reached the spot to combat the fire. Four water tankers and six hose lines were engaged to bring down the blaze.


The fire department had received a call at 8:07 pm and the fire engines had reached the spot at 8:25 pm.


The shooting of two TV serials Bepanaah and Haasil was going on when the fire broke out. More than 150 crew members were safely evacuated from the spot.
