'Swachh Bharat Recycle Machine' is a compact bottle crusher machine that recycles PET bottles. The machines are being provided by the Wockhardt Foundation.

As per a report in the Mumbai Mirror, new machines will be installed at Churchgate (platform number 2), Dadar, Mumbai Central, Andheri, Bandra, Santacruz, Goregaon, Borivali, Kandivali, Bandra Terminus, and Bhayander.

The Western Railway has selected the stations based on the footfall. The first machine installed at Churchgate on World Environment Day on June 5 last year.

Each machine can process 5,000 bottles a day.

What's even more special about the machine is that commuters are given discount coupons that can be used at Sahakari Bhandar and Reliance Fresh stores. One can also opt for Paytm points or donate the money.

The report quotes Dr Huz, Trustee and CEO, Wockhardt Foundation as saying that the foundation is pleased with the response from the public.

Dr Huz added that the 'Swachh Bharat Recycle Machine' is part of the foundation's endeavour to support the Prime Minister's Swachh Bharat mission.
