Assam elections 2016: Govt declares public holiday for April 11 polls
The first phase of polling in the state was held on April 4 while the second phase will commence on April 11.
Guwahati: The Assam government has declared a public holiday for the areas that are going to polls on April 11.
The first phase of polling in the state was held on April 4 while the second phase will commence on April 11.
All central government offices, public sector undertakings, corporations, boards, banks and educational institutions, etc. in the Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) going to polls in the second phase will remain close, the Sentinel Assam reported.
The LACs that are going to polls on April 11 are Manchachar, Salmara South, Dhubri, Gauripur, Golokganj, Bilasipara West, Bilasipara East, Gossaigaon, Kokrajhar West, Kokrajhar East, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Bijni, Abhayapuri North, Abhayapuri South, Dudhnoi, Goalpara East, Goalpara West, Jaleswar, Sorbhog, Bhabanipur, Patacharkuchi, Barpeta, Jonia, Baghbar, Sarukhetri, Chenga, Boko, Chaygaon, Palashbari, Jalukbari, Dispur, Guwahati East, Guwahati West, Hajo, Kamalpur, Rangia, Tamulpur, Nalbari, Barkhetri, Dharmapur, Barama, Chapaguri, Kalaigaon, Sipajhar, Mangaldai, Dalgaon, Jagiroad, Morigaon, Lahorighat, Raha, Dhing, Batadroba, Rupohihat, Nagaon, Barhampur, Samaguri, Kaliabor, Jamunamukh, Hojai and Lumding.
