New Delhi: The Tuesday morning high-voltage drama that began after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the third floor of Delhi secretariat has turned into a political slugfest.
After the media initially reported that the raid was directed at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office, the CBI came out with a clarification that they had swooped on the office of the CM's principal secretary Rajendra Kumar – already under probe in connection with CNG fitness scam.
LIVE: Arvind Kejriwal insists CBI raided his office, calls PM Narendra Modi a 'psychopath'
However, the Aam Aadmi Party were quick to pin the blame on PM Narendra Modi with Kejriwal going on to call him a 'psychopath'.
The AAP also rejected CBI's clarification and alleged that the CBI is lying 'through its teeth'.
The CBI's view implies that the AAP is spreading a lie that the CBI has raided the office of the CM.
The central probe agency stressed that their action was based on credible information on Rajendra Kumar's corrupt ways.
Whatever may be the truth but one is sure that the issue appears set to snowball in to a major political controversy.
