New Delhi: Following a Delhi court's directive to send the city's Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar to police custody for four days, the complainant in the case on Tuesday expressed his satisfaction, dubbing the former's taking charge as a law maker as 'shameful'.
"I am satisfied with the court's verdict, justice has prevailed. Being myself a lawyer, I find it shameful that a person with forged degree is taking charge as Law Minister," the complainant, Ripudaman Bhardwaj, told ANI.
Tomar was arrested by Delhi Police this morning and taken to the Hauz Khas police station in connection with a fake degree row. He had been facing allegations of submitting forged education certificates while filing his nomination for the Delhi Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, the Delhi Police and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre were trying to 'scare' the city's government by using court cases and arrests.
