After the meeting, Rai said the civil defence volunteers would be deployed at various places under the traffic police, enforcement wing, transport and SDM.

He said the volunteers had been called at Chhatrasal Stadium for primary briefings by traffic police officials.

Transport, special commissioner traffic and divisional commissioner would have a coordination team and would sort out problem if any, said Rai, adding that they would intervene if needed so.

Bassi, however, said: "Now, volunteers will not be deployed independently, they will be deployed under SDM, traffic police or transport officer. Nearly 5,000 volunteers will be attached with the Delhi Police. No private citizen will be deployed as volunteers."

"As there won't be possibility of impounding, vehicles fined or challaned for breaking the odd-even rule will be allowed to go back home without being fined again, said Bassi.
