Much needed relief for the national capital as overnight rains bring down the temperature
New Delhi: Delhiites woke up to overcast conditions today after overnight rains even as humidity levels shot up.
Safdarjung observatory recorded 13.4 mm rainfall while weather stations at Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Aayanagar recorded 9 mm, 10.8 mm, 1 mm and 39.6 mm rain respectively, said a Met department official.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
The humidity was recorded as 98 per cent at 8.30 AM, the official said.
The MeT office has forecast light rain and thundershowers for the day.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at several places. The maximum temperature is likely to hover at 36 degrees," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was pegged at 30 degrees Celsius.
