New Delhi: While Congress stalwart Sheila Dikshit (78) is hitting the campaign trail in the politically sensitive Uttar Pradesh, her son Sandeep Dikshit too is looking for greener pastures in the political arena.
In his blog the former Congress MP apparently lashed out at Congress leader Ajay Maken (without naming him), whom he holds responsible of running a systematic negative campaign to defame his mother and falsely implicate her in the CWG scam and alleged water tanker scam.
Unhappy with the leadership, Dikhsit wrote, “So where does that leave me? When my own party has put me out to graze, what greener pastures do I look for? So like all sensible cattle, I roam around, picking grass from wherever I get it with honour and self-respect.”
Further lashing out at Maken, Sandeep Dikshit said, “I am in the Indian National Congress, but as far as its Delhi unit is concerned, I cannot accept a leadership whose sole objective was to discredit the Congress government in Delhi under Sheila Dikshit, which ultimately led to destroying the party itself (interestingly, the Congress is staging a comeback on the strength of the 15 years of its rule in Delhi, which was discredited by the very person who is reaping that benefit now).”
Hitting out at Maken, the Delhi Congress unit chief, the ex-Congress MP from East Delhi accused the latter of trying to defame his mother. He further accused the Pradesh Congress Committee of cajoling mediapersons in order to hype the water tanker scam.
