In an exclusive interview to Aaj Tak, Rai said, "Rumours are being spread over my resignation from the post of Delhi Tourism Minister. I recently underwent a major surgery where a bullet was removed from my body and was again admitted to a Hyderabad hospital for a spinal injury. My treatment is still underway."

"I had an interaction with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after which it was decided that the department of transport will be handed over to someone till my recovery.

On charges of corruption

There have been speculations that AAP leader Gopal Rai was asked to quit from the post over allegations of corruption charges against him. However, the AAP minister, while denying his involvement in any graft activities, challenged the Opposition to provide a concrete evidence against him.

"As far as corruption is concerned, I can assure that the police made in the premium bus service, will help Delhi to ease air pollution and traffic congestion after the Odd-even scheme. However, if anyone from BJP, ACB or CBI manages to bring any graft evidence against me, I will spend rest of my life in prison," Rai said.
