The matter has gone to the country's highest court after the High Court in Delhi recently ruled that the Lieutenant Governor has the final say.

However, Kejriwal's contention is that as the elected Chief Minister of Delhi, he is the top boss of the national capital.

According to NDTV, the chief minister's lawyer has requested the top court to hear the case on urgent basis, claiming that some senior bureaucrats are choosing to report to the Lieutenant Governor instead of the Delhi government.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has alleged that its work is obstructed regularly by the Centre by exercising its power over agencies like the Delhi Police, which report to the centre and not the state.
