Election to the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly are due before March next year.

"I am not favouring election before completion of five years (that is in March 2017). Two months before that (when the elections are scheduled) there will be (model) election code of conduct (into effect)," Parsekar said here.

The Chief Minister said his government has to complete several developmental works before the scheduled election.

"The election should be on schedule and also our party will come back to power," he said.

BJP came to power in 2012 defeating the ruling Congress. Parsekar became the Chief Minister in November 2014 after Manohar Parrikar joined the Narendra Modi Cabinet as the Union Defence Minister.
