Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and reposed full faith of Akali Dal in his leadership.
Badal in his meeting with the Prime Minister appreciated him for withdrawing his offer to resign, in the interest of the people of India, who have been immensely benefited from his seasoned, matured and principled leadership, an official statement quoted Badal as saying.
Lauding the leadership qualities of Vajpayee, the Akali Dal president said that his party extends whole-hearted support on behalf of the people of Punjab to the Prime Minister in carrying the country forward on the road of development and prosperity. Punjabis would ever be indebted to Vajpayee for showing magnanimity for his concerted efforts to boost the economy of the state, the chief minister added. Bureau Report
