In an apparent attempt to push in militants from across the border, Pakistan troops have intensified firing on Indian positions in the past few days, a defence spokesman said in Jammu on Sunday.
The support of Pakistani army regulars in the militants' infiltration attempts has increased after the Agra summit and reflects designs of Pakistani army to force Indian troops to retaliate to their heavy firing and thereby escalate the situation on the Line of Control, the spokesman said
Citing instances, he said on July 7, July 13, July 20 and July 21, Pakistani regulars resorted to firing of heavy calibre automatic weapons, mostly along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
