Patna: Premier medical institution AIIMS here on Monday launched a scheme of health cards for patients which would contain the history of ailment suffered and could be accessed globally.

The health card was launched at a function by Patna AIIMS Director G K Singh.


Singh later told reporters that the card would have medical records of a patient stored in it and could be accessed anywhere in the world.


It would be connected to banks and insurance companies so that a patient could come to the hospital without cash and be treated.


"The card would be of immense help in the event of an emergency," Singh said, adding insurance claims would be made easy by the card.


Besides, fraud cases would be detected easily because of it.
