Eleven foreign militants belonging to Pak-based militant outfits were killed in a joint operation of the Rashtriya Rifles and police at Hardimarhote forest in Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu, on Sunday, police said. Eleven AK assault rifles, a Pika gun, 54 grenades and three wireless sets were recovered from the dead militants.
Militants blew up a CRPF vehicle at Hardumalpora in Beerwah area of Badgam district on Sunday, killing six jawans and critically injuring other three.
Police said that the ultras detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the main road, when Beerwah police and CRPF personnel were on way to a village to investigate the death of a person allegedly killed by militants early Sunday morning. The dead jawans were identified as Bintu Singh, Badri Prasad, Rajiner Singh, Prwkash Chander, Suchan Singh and S K Sinday.

Condition of the three injured jawans -- Head constable Karal Singh, Bhagat Singh and Adalat Singh-- was stated to be serious.
In another encounter, two security men were killed in an ambush by militants at Tata Pani area of Rajouri district on Sunday. Bureau Report
