Air India has cancelled its flight to London, scheduled for Thursday morning. The airline had earlier planned the flight AI 101 to be extended to New York from London, subject to the ban on its air space by United States being lifted, an airline spokesperson said.
AI cancelled its flight to London while other international carriers, which operated to the city, did not carry US-bound passengers. The airline hopes to operate an additional flight to US on Friday to clear the stranded passengers in London, he said.
Two flights to New York and Chicago were recalled on Tuesday in the wake of terrorist attacks and closure of airports and grounding of aircraft, the airline official said.
A special cell (Tel no 8367195 and 8366767 extn 4217) has been set up at the Sahar terminal of Chhatrapathi Shivaji international airport to monitor and disseminate information regarding its flights to the UK/US.
