Iran voiced concern over the escalating dispute between India and Pakistan, proposing its good offices to ease the tension, state radio reported.
Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi, in telephone calls with his Pakistani and Indian counterparts, said Tehran was ready to help dissipate the tension between the two countries.
Iran, which he noted has good relations with both countries, was worried by the tension, Kharazi said, quoted on the radio.
Home Minister L.K. Advani accused Pakistani intelligence of plotting a most audacious and most alarming act of terrorism, after a gun battle and suicide attack last week at Indian Parliament that cost 13 lives.
Islamabad has rejected accusations that its intelligence forces played a role and has condemned the assault.
