New Delhi: This is no news that consuming fatty foods is not good for the health but its consumption can give you colorectal cancer in return certainely is. Researchers have found that diet rich in fats increases the risk of colorectal cancer (bowel cancer).


It is said that consuming a diet rich in fat causes cells in the gut to mutate which inturn can elevate the risk of developing colorectal cancer in humans.


According to a researcher, the link between colorectal cancer and high-fat diet has been reported for many years but the mechanisms involved were not known till now. In this case, overweight people are at a higher risk and they should stop consuming fatty foods.


So, the next time you wish to taste a bite of your favourite fatty delicacy, think twice.
