Hyderabad: A pregnant woman died while undergoing treatment for swine flu at a premier state-run hospital here, a senior health official said Sunday.

The woman, who belonged to Nalgonda district, died last night, according to Dr Narasimhulu, swine flu coordinator at the state-run Gandhi hospital.


The intensity of the virus appears to be on the wane, he said.


As many as 41 people died in Telangana due to swine flu and other related complications from January 1 to February 6 this year, a bulletin on swine flu, issued by the state government yesterday, said.


"In the current year from January 1 till February 6, 2,302 samples have been tested, out of which 768 found to be positive and number of deaths of because of other complications and swine flu are 41. On February 6, ninety samples were tested. Out of that 30 are found positive," the bulletin said.
