Centre is preparing a foolproof case to ban the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) for its involvement in anti-national activities, Union home minister L K Advani said in Lucknow Saturday. A demand for banning SIMI has been received from several states including Uttar Pradesh and facts and evidences in this regard are being collected, he told reporters. He said that a foolproof case was being prepared so that the government does not find any difficulty in justifying its decision if it is challenged in a court of law.
Advani said that the government has received alarming reports about the activities of SIMI from the police and intelligence agencies. Bureau Report
