New Delhi: An asthma attack can be a terrifying experience. During an assthma attack, your airways constrict or become clogged with mucus, making each breath a frightening struggle.


 


Asthma is a lung condition in which the airways inside the lung become narrow, swell and produce extra mucus. This leads to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing.


Asthma attacks can be triggered by breathing in substances called allergens - dust mites, mold, pollen, animals, respiratory infections such as common cold, tobacco smoke, air pollutants (smog), Strenuous physical activity, weather, etc,.


 


But, sometimes, some people may have an attack with no obvious trigger. Most people with asthma will always keep an inhaler handy, but what would you do if someone doesn't have it and the attack is severe. In such cases, you may need to help the person to survive the attack.
