5.3-intensity earthquake hits Andaman & Nicobar Islands, no tsunami alert issued
The quake struck at 9:33 PM at a depth of 10 kms, according to National Centre for Seismology.
New Delhi: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday night and there were no immediate reports of loss of life or property.
No tsunami alert has been issued following the medium-intensity quake whose epicentre was Andaman Islands.
The quake struck at 9:33 PM at a depth of 10 kms, according to National Centre for Seismology.
Earlier, a quake measuring 3 on the Richter Scale had jolted Nagaon in Assam at 11.42 AM at a depth of 2.4 kms.
