Congress had erased Netaji`s ideals, BJP brought it back to focus: Chandra Kumar Bose
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Bose lauded the BJP for bringing back the three ideals of Subhas Chandra Bose - `economic, political and social freedom` - to national politics.
New Delhi: Lauding the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandson Chandra Kumar Bose on Sunday said that BJP is the only party whose ideology is similar to what the great freedom fighter had believed in and the Congress Party had always tried to erase his ideals.
In an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak, he lauded the BJP for bringing back the three ideals of Subhas Chandra Bose - “economic, political and social freedom” - to national politics.
Asked why he chose to join the BJP, he said that BJP's ideology is similar to what Subhas Chandra Bose had believed in and that was one of the main reasons behind his decision to join the party.
“Subhas Chandra Bose was a nationalist. He played the role of a nationalist during India's freedom movement. He also spoke about India's socialism.
“So i think Bharatiya Janata Party is not so different from it. Also any ideology always keep changing. Netaji believed in modern science, he believed in development, his views were inclusive and all these ideals are today with the BJP,” Bose said.
Asked whether the BJP is trying to bring up Netaji's case with an eye on West Bengal assembly election, he said, “This is not an election issue. BJP is the only party that brought Netaji's ideals to mainstream politics. This is not about politics. This is about development this is about inclusivity.”
“The Congress Party erased the ideals of Subhas Chandra Bose. BJP brought his ideals back to mainstream politics,” he told Rahul Kanwal in the Seedhi Baat programme.
