Singh was nabbed at Buxar in Bihar after remaining absconding since July 19 when at a press conference in Mau, he said that the BSP chief was giving party tickets based on the amount of money paid to her and that even a prostitute was better than her.
On the following day, the BJP sacked the Uttar Pradesh unit vice-president from all party posts.
Additional Superintendent of Police Keshav Yadav told IANS that a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Bihar Police nabbed him from Chini Mill area in Buxar.
"He will be taken to Uttar Pradesh," Yadav said, adding it was being investigated when he reached Bihar and with who he was staying.
Singh's statement had led to furore and eventually a case was registered against him at the Hazratganj police station by Mewa Lal Gautam who said the now-sacked BJP state vice-president's statement had violated the honour of a Dalit woman and tried to foment trouble and tension between two communities.
