Chennai: Former National Security Adviser MK Narayanan was on Wednesday attacked with a slipper by a suspected pro-Tamil activist at a programme here.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the accused, identified as Prabhakaran (35), hurled the footwear at the former West Bengal Governor at a programme here to discuss about the problems of Sri Lankan Tamil refugees.


Narayanan did not suffer any injuries and laughed off the incident, sources said.


Prabhakaran was immediately detained by police and taken for interrogation.
