New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday that ten Indian crew of a ship named 'Maximus', which was hijacked by pirates off the Ivory Coast, have been rescued with the help of the Nigerian navy.

Swaraj took to twitter to convey the message:


“10 Indian crew members have been rescued and efforts are on to secure the release of the 11th, besides a Pakistani,” she tweeted.



In another tweet she said that the ship with 11 Indians was hijacked last Saturday. 


"A ship 'Maximus' with 11 Indian crew members was hijacked by pirates off the Ivory Coast last Saturday. On our request the ship was followed by Ghana and Nigerian Navy.
