"I condemned the Uri terror attack, however, I don't know about others," Shafqat Amanat Ali said while speaking to TimesNow.

On being asked about other Pakistani artistes for maintaining their silence on the issue, the Pakistani singer says, "They may not have condemned the Uri terror attack because of threat letter. As far as I know, Pakistani artistes' stand on terror is the same."

It is to be noted that Shafqat has become the first Pakistani artiste to go on to record to condemn the Uri terror attack.

Last week, in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after the surgical strikes carried out across the LoC, Shafqat's concert scheduled to be held in Bengauru on September 30 was called off by the organisers.

Radio Mirchi Group Manager (Sales) Srinivas had said that the decision to cancel Pakistani classical singer's concert was taken in the aftermath of the Uri attacks.

Recently, Pakistan-born Adnan Sani, who not long back received his Indian nationality, made headlines for hitting out at Pakistani actors for chosing to remain silent on the terror attacks being carried out in India.

"If your host has extended you a warm welcome, and suddenly a fire breaks out in his house, do you just run away? I feel they should have condemned the attack," the 'Tera Chehra' singer was quoted as saying.

The musician equated the Indian Army's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) to an individual having to enter his/her neighbour’s house and clean out their garbage because the neighbour refused to.
