The Indian and Pakistani armies on Wednesday exchanged sweets and greetings on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir to commemorate Pakistan Day.
Jammu: The Indian and Pakistani armies on Wednesday exchanged sweets and greetings on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir to commemorate Pakistan Day.
"Soldiers of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets at Mendhar and Chakan-Da-Bagh on the LoC," defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS.
"The exchange of sweets on religious festivals and days of historical significance is part of the confidence building measures between the two sides and shall go a long way in promoting harmony and bonhomie along the LoC," he said.
The day marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanding a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.
