Lucknow:  Ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections slated next year, BJP today announced a jumbo state executive, which include sons of Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The party's state executive has 15 vice-presidents, eight general secretaries, one treasurer, one assistant treasurer and 15 secretaries, a statement issued said here.


"The new executive is a mix of young blood and experienced leadership," a BJP leader said.


Kalyan Singh's son Rajveer Singh Raju and senior party leader Lalji Tandon's son and MLA Gopal Tandon have been included in the list of vice-presidents.


Pankaj Singh, son of Rajnath Singh, has been made the general secretary, while BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak has been elevated as the general secretary.


Walking a tight rope to keep all sections of the party in good humour, state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya retained-newly elected Rajya Sabha member S P Shukla in the executive.


MLA Rajesh Agarwal has been retained as treasurer, while Naveen Jain has been appointed as his deputy, a party leader said.
